Gullet Width, Fork Width, Fitting Options & Seat Sizes

Saddle Trees:

The Baroque Saddles are built on our flexible Ultra-Flex Saddle tree, made out of high quality Carbon Fiber.

Fork Width (Arch):

The Baroque Saddles are available with our patented fully adjustable fork system, which allows the rider to easily narrow or widen the fork width by a fraction of an inch via an Allen Wrench, without ever having to take the saddle apart. This system is adjustable from K1-K5, which is comparable to the Sprenger Measuring System for Withers Size 6 through Size 2.

Seat Sizes:

The Baroque saddles are available in 3 different seat sizes (measured on the tree):
S1 (ca. 42 cm)
S2 (ca. 44 cm)
S3 (ca. 46 cm)
Please note, that the finished seat size depends on the model and can variate slightly between different models. The seat size also depends on the type of galery (front and back) you are choosing. When in doubt, contact one of our dealers to get the opportunity to sit in one of our saddles first before ordering. If your saddle shop is not listed, you can still contact us and we may contact your saddle shop for you.

Flocking:

The panels of our Baroque saddles are available in various thicknesses:
Wool Felt-Inlay: slightly harder core made out of wool felt (ca. 5 mm)
Needle Felt-Inlay: slightly softer core made out of needle felt (ca. 40 mm)

After the Inlay is attached, the panels are flocked with high quality synthetic wool. You can choose between three different thicknesses of flocking:

thin flocking (ca. 4 – 6 cm)
medium flocking (ca. 6 – 8 cm)
thick flocking (ca. 8 – 10 cm)

Gullet Width (Note: the gullet will slightly widen or narrow when using the Allen wrench adjustable fork system). Our standard gullet width (channel width) is 6 cm. Another remarkable advantage to mention is that the panels are only attached in the front and back of the tree, to provide maxium comfort for the horse in turns and while bending. To ease the pressure that is normally applied to the spine, the panels give slightly, so the spine doesn’t have to. When panels are completely attached from front to back, it would be the spine of the horse, that would have to give to pressure.
